The Gouf is a new land warfare mobile suit developed to replace the MS-06J

Zaku II . Thanks to its supplemental leg thrusters, greater agility, and improved

melee combat abilities, the Gouf is indeed superior to the Zaku II. However, no

sooner has production began than the Gouf is itself discontinued in favor of the

jet-propelled MS-09 Dom . As a result, only a small number of these machines

ever make it to the frontlines, but in the hands of a master pilot they can be

devastatingly effective. Ace pilot Norris Packard ultimately receives a customized

version of the Gouf, equipped with a powerful shield-mounted gatling gun and a

redesigned, grapple-style heat rod .
