The Ball is a mass-produced " mobile pod " armed with a recoilless cannon.

These inexpensive vehicles, based on civilian space pods, were created to

provide fire support for the Federation Forces' GM mobile suits in addition to

being a weak offensive force, they are now primarily used by the federation to

build structures. Large numbers of Balls are deployed during the Federation's

assaults on the space fortresses Solomon and A Baoa Qu .
